Hello. My Name is Chris Cox.
I am owner and director here at Eatonville Early Learning Center. I made the choice to purchase the daycare in the summer of 2006 and have been successfully operating EELC since October of 2006. It has been great getting to know all the families here!
Here’s a little about me. I got married in November of 1991 to a wonderful man, Jim Cox. He grew up here in Eatonville. I, however, grew up in Federal Way. We built our home and have been living in Eatonville since 1999. We have three children; my oldest is Samantha, then Hannah and our youngest, Kyle.
I graduated from Federal Way High School and then went to Highline Community College. I graduated with my AA Degree in Early Childhood Education. I originally had intentions of becoming a primary grade school teacher, but had met my husband and decided to put it off for awhile. I still plan to fulfill that dream someday when my own children are grown up.
I have always loved children and have worked with them off and on for many years. I ran an in home daycare for three years when my oldest daughter was born. We had to close down when we sold our home to build out here in Eatonville, where we built our current house. Once we moved out here, I was a nanny for almost two years. I then worked as a preschool teacher for over five years. I also co-directed a childcare center in Graham for a little over a year. I stopped working when our second daughter was born.
My door is always open and I encourage you to come by anytime and take a tour of the center. It is a pretty relaxed and comfortable atmosphere here where the children can learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Chris Cox
